Auckland Zoo

In 2002 the Auckland Zoo refurbished the Old Elephant House into a function centre. Upon recommendation by the architect, Edge City Builders were asked to tender the project. They submitted the most competitive bid and were engaged to undertake the work. The project was completed within budget and to a very high level of quality.

Since then, Edgecity Builders have been employed almost full time on a number of projects throughout the zoo including

• Tuatara and Weta breeding facility
• Replacement of Rainforest boardwalk
• Serval Exhibit
• Lorikeet Walkthrough Aviary
• Plus numerous maintenance and renewals requests

Edgecity Builders have been instrumental in the success of these projects. With limited drawings and details their staff have been able to interpret the vision and aesthetics that the zoo strives to achieve to complement the natural habitats for its animals and visitors enjoyment. The staff takes great pride in their work and this shows through on the finished product with the high quality of workmanship.

All their staff are Site Safe trained, adhere to zoo’s safety requirements and have not had a single injury to date.
